Safer Skies: Airline Petition

Safer Skies Online Campaign

We have three goals to meet :

  1. Try to repeal the 1:50 ratio of flight attendants to passengers, if not possible at least have the Federal Government commit to a risk assessment and tripartite consultation.
  2. Have a regulation forcing the industry to monitor cosmic radiation and it’s impact on health for the frequent flyers as much as for the workers (exposure to radiation causes fertility issues miscarriages and notably cancer).
  3. Similar outcome for toxic fumes events where the general population / workers should be aware of what they are and how to seek care if exposed.

Please sign our petition at the links below.

What can you do to help stop erosion of our members work duties?

Hello Permit Issuers and General Members,

It has come to the Union’s attention that there are some Contractors doing our work in the plant.  According to our Collective Agreement, Letter of Understanding 58, the Union must be notified prior to the commencement of Contractor work.  It is to our understanding that the Union has not been notified in a large number of these cases.

The Union is requesting your help.  Please notify the Union Maintenance VP any time you see, and have reason to believe, that our work is being contracted out. The Maintenance VP will verify if the Union has been notified as per our CBA.
